Yurt Living in Alaska – Life North of Ordinary

Some people chase comfort. We chased calling — and it led us here.

Welcome to Yurtstead Alaska, where a yurt in Alaska isn’t just shelter — it’s the starting line for homesteading dreams, family adventures, and a life rooted deeper than the frost line.

We’re building a family homestead from raw land, stubborn hope, and the kind of grit you only find when the pipes freeze, the food forest gets raided by moose, and the winds remind you who’s boss.

Real life in Alaska — fueled by faith, fortified by hard lessons, and lived out with laughter (and maybe a little duct tape).

If you believe hard isn’t the same as bad, that family is worth the fight, and that roots matter more than polish, you’re in good company.

Forged by winter. Fed by hope. Rooted in faith. Life lived north of ordinary.

Oh no! A moose has munched our contact form. It doesn’t seem to be working right now. If you have sent a message, I think it is is being digested next to the buds from our apple tree. I may not be able to read it once I get that moose.

Hang tight while I jump on my snowmachine and try to get the missing piece back and get this thing working again.

Now where did I put that duct tape and WD-40?

Until I get that taken care of, be as adaptable as an Alaskan and reach out through our Facebook Page – https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575668912072
